DECLARATION ON THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC INTEREST TELEVISION BROADCASTING

This Declaration is issued following the Summit on the Future of Public Interest Television Broadcasting held on 8 July 2026 in Johannesburg, hosted by the SOS Support Public Broadcasting Coalition. It records the principal issues, discussions, concerns and proposals raised during the summit. It should not be interpreted as representing unanimous agreement among all participants, but rather as a voluntary instrument endorsed by organisations and individuals who support the principles, recommendations and proposed actions contained in this Declaration.
